Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What type of services do you provide?
We provide a variety of services for children, adolescents, couples, families and individuals. Please see the description of our services or contact us for more information.
How do I select a therapist?
You can read more about each individual therapist on our webpage. We also encourage you to contact the Center in order to ask questions. A Center Therapist can answer your questions and assist you in the selection process.
How do I get started?
You can contact us by phone or email. We will ask you some brief questions regarding your needs and reasons for requesting services. This will enable us to help you select the therapist that is right for you.
How often and how long will I attend therapy?
This is very specific to each client. Your personal goals and needs will guide how often and for how long you receive therapy.
What if I need to cancel or re-schedule an appointment?
You are able to cancel/re-schedule appointments by contacting your therapist or by leaving a voicemail. Any appointments that are not canceled/re-scheduled 24 hours prior to the session will be billed at the full rate.
I have joint-custody of my child; do I need permission from the other custodial parent in order for my child to receive services at the Center?
No. Permission from both parents is not required and we are able to provide therapeutic services with the consent of one parent. However, it is often beneficial for both parents to be involved if possible so your therapist may discuss this with you during treatment. Adolescents age 15 and older may seek treatment independently of their parent(s).
Can I contact my therapist in-between sessions if I have questions or concerns?
Yes. If you have a question or concern you can leave a message for your therapist and will receive a return call within 24 hours on business days. If the matter requires more than 10 minutes of attention, you have the option of scheduling a phone consultation. Phone consultations are 30 minutes in length and will be billed at a rate of $35. Phone consultations are only available to clients who are currently receving services at the Center.
Is it possible to email my therapist?
Email can be used to receive general information. Therapeutic services are not provided via email.
